Celebrity Poker Player: Ashton Kutcher

Looks like Ashton Kutcher is hoping to join the likes of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt and Tobey Maguire at the poker tables soon.

Ashton Kutcher will learn to play poker from one of the best in the business. Ashton Kutcher paid $14,000 to have a private poker lesson with the duchess of poker and a poker icon Annie Duke.

The That 70?s Show Star attended an auction with his wife Demi Moore. The couple were some of the celebrities attending the charity auction hosted by uBid.com to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Ashton Kutcher felt compelled to attend the event when he learned all the proceeds from the auction were going to aid the ongoing Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

"I was lying in bed with my wife, and we were watching TV, and we're watching all the stuff that's going on with the hurricane disasters and I started to get pissed!”

"I was getting really, really pissed off. I'm like, 'Why isn't the government ready for something like this? Why aren't they doing something?" Kutcher said.

Ashton Kutcher's ex-girlfriend, Brittany Murphy, also attended the Sin City party, as well as 'N Sync star Lance Bass, who bid $30,000 also attended the auction held in the Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas.

Ashton Kutcher was in attendance with his wife, Demi Moore, in what was the couple's first public appearance in North America since their marriage late last month. A handful of other celebrities and pro players turned up for the event, including Nick and Drew Lachey, David Spade, Macaulay Culkin, Mila Kunis, Seth Green, Cris Judd, Joe Reitman, Krista Allen, A.J. DiScala, Phil Gordon, Lance Bass, Jessica Biel, and Cary Hart.

We'll wait and see to find out if Annie Duke's poker tips can help out Ashton Kutcher enough to beat Cameron Diaz and her crazy enthusiasm for poker at the next celebrity tournament.

Be there in person to find out, but the nice men down at the police station tell me I'm still not allowed to come within a quarter mile of Cameron Diaz. Back to the online tournaments for me, it seems.

The uBid.com Online Celebrity Auction was held at the Empire Ballroom in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kutcher decided to attend after he learned that all of the proceeds were going to aid the ongoing Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

The event was organized to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina, and to celebrate the launch of an online charity auction at uBid.com that will run until early November. It was hosted by comedienne Kathy Griffin and featured a performance by Macy Gray.

Proceeds will be split between the Brett Favre Fourward Mississippi Relief Fund, Kutcher's charity Rock Works, and the Child Welfare League of America.

Cameron Diaz, On Playing Texas Hold'em Poker

One of the prettiest faces in Hollywood model turned versatile actress, Cameron Diaz.

She signed a contract with elite model and became an international model and working for such clothing companies as Levi's and Calvin Klein and became a cover girl in 1990 of the
“Seventeen” magazine.

However, after her success in the modeling industry, Cameron Diaz tried her luck in the Hollywood motion picture industry. And Luckily, she come up to scratch in the audition for a role in the movie “The Mask” with a great comedian Hollywood actor Jim Carrey that made her an immense super star!

Her other movies are: My Bestfriend's Wedding with Julia Roberts, Shrek as Princess Fiona, Charlie's Angels with Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise, Minority Report, In her Shoes, What Happens in Vegas with Ashton Kutcher.

She even experienced being nominated as Best Supporting Actress at several award-giving bodies for her stellar performance in the movie Being John Malkovich.

And apart from modeling and acting, Cameron Diaz is also a good poker player. Yep! How did that started? Well, it was celebrity Ellen DeGeneres of the famous talk show
“Ellen” who introduced this female celebrity poker player to poker. Cameron Diaz was invited once by Ellen DeGeneres to the latter's place to play Texas Hold'em.

Cameron did not want to come because she did not know how to play such game. But with Ellen DeGeneres' insistence forced her to come and play. This female celebrity poker player must be very grateful not to miss such chance because she won and took home all her opponents' money.

Cameron Diaz may also be seen in casinos playing poker. Whenever she has free time, she makes it a point to visit the nearest casino she can find in order to relax, have fun, and take a break from her busy schedule as a celebrity.

Ever since that escapade, this female celebrity poker player reveals to become obsessed with poker. And such admission has only made Cameron even more attractive and famous.

Cameron Diaz said in the interview of Ellen introducing her to play Texas Hold'em, "I remember the fateful night as well. I remember the phone call: 'Come on over and play Texas Hold'Em.' I said, 'I don't know how to play Texas Hold'Em.' She was like, 'None of us do, come on over."

And now, Cameron seeks poker all the time!
"I'm addicted to it. I do like the casino a bit. I find myself at a casino every once in a while just walking through going, 'What am I doing here?' That's so desperate - I'm in Tunica, Mississippi."

Cameron Diaz has shown some propensity for the game, winning a 2nd place in a recent re-buy event. Regardless of being a novice, Cameron Diaz recognizes she has a blaze for the game.
"I took 2nd place, but I actually won because I never bought back into the tournament. The guy who beat me bought back in like five times."

Only time will tell if Cameron Diaz can beat the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker titles owned by another Hollywood celebrity poker player, Jennifer Tilly.

Quote/Question of the Day

"Does a girl ever get tired of being told she’s pretty? It’s when you’re told ‘You’re much prettier than you look in photos.’ How are you expected to respond? ‘That’s because you saw some sleazebag photo of me loading up my car in my gym clothes?’ Is it a compliment? You look half-human in real life? It’s a weird one.” - Cameron Diaz

(It's true though ... She really doesn't photograph that well. She looks way better up close and personal!)
