Norah Jones is an American multi-Grammy Award winning pianist and singer-songwriter.

Norah Jones was born on March 30, 1979 in New York as Geetali Norah Jones. Norah jones is daughter of Indian musician Ravi Shankar and Sue Jones. She is the half sister of Anoushka Shankar, a sitar virtuoso and composer. Her boyfriend, Lee Alexander also writes songs for Norah.

Norah Jones spent her childhood with her mother, Sue Jones, in Texas. Norah's earliest musical influences came from her mother's extensive LP collection and from 'oldies' radio. She began singing in church choirs at age five. At the age of 15, Jones was enrolled in the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

At age 16, she changed her name officially to Norah Jones. At that time, she played her first gig at a local coffeehouse. In high school, Norah won the Down Beat Student Music Awards for Best Jazz Vocalist and Best Original Composition.

In 1999, Norah accepted a friend's offer of a summer sublet in Greenwich Village. Jones performs frequently with guitarist Charlie Hunter. Her music is often compared to that of Billie Holiday and Nina Simone.

Norah Jones career was launched with her album Come Away With Me. She received 8 awards at the Grammys in the year 2003, including Best New Artist. Her sophomore album, Feels Like Home, was released on February 9, 2004.

Norah Jones received 3 awards at the Grammys of 2005, two for her Record of the Year collaboration with Ray Charles on the song Here We Go Again.

Shakira Is Single Again

Singer Shakira and her boyfriend of nearly 11 years, Antonio de la Rua, announced their separation back in August.

In a joint statement, they called their relationship "the most wonderful years of our lives," but said it had reached a "joint decision" for romantic break after a few months apart.

The two continue to be partners in business and their professional lives. De la Rua is the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua, and he has acted as her agent.

In 2009, Shakira in an interview, had expressed her desire to have children with her boyfriend de la Rúa. Shakira also released a statement on the division in her blog.

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor switch from Facebook to Twitter

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor were regular users of Facebook. But after their private conversations were becoming public, they decided to switch to Twitter. It was Shahid who introduced Twitter to Priyanka. He suggested that she get a Twitter account to be in touch with her international fans, and also to promote their movie Kaminey. Shahid has been on Twitter since last year, it’s only since April this year, that he has started tweeting regularly.

A source reveals, “Shahid and Priyanka’s main reason for being on Twitter is to promote their movie. However, they also keep sending direct messages which can’t be seen by those who visit their pages.”

Both of them have made various posts about not wanting the release date of Kaminey to be pushed any further. PC’s post on her page reads, “Hoping the Kaminey release is finalised for August 14, I can’t wait for the response”, while Shahid says, “BTW, Kaminey tentative release date is 14th Aug.” In response to Shahid’s tweet, Priyanka replied by sending him a public message saying, “Let’s hope it’s final this time.”
